About EFT
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals, couples, and families strengthen emotional connection and create more secure relationships.
Developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, EFT is grounded in the understanding that emotional bonds shape how we experience ourselves and the people closest to us. Through EFT, people learn to better understand emotions, improve communication, and create lasting patterns of connection and support.
EFT is widely recognized as one of the most effective approaches for couples therapy and is also used with individuals and families.
Why Therapists Choose EFT
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is one of the most researched and effective approaches for working with couples, individuals, and families. Grounded in attachment science, EFT helps therapists understand the emotional patterns that shape relationships, connection, and healing.
Many therapists are drawn to EFT because it offers both a clear clinical framework and a deeply human approach to change—helping clients create lasting shifts in connection, trust, and emotional security.
But learning EFT is not something most therapists do in isolation. Growth happens through practice, consultation, community, and the experience of learning alongside others who understand the work. NTEFT helps therapists across the DFW metroplex deepen their practice with a circle of support behind them .
